For time immemorial, your village has lived beneath the watchful and hatred eye of the Harpy. Known as the Cruel Living Goddess, she rules the land with an iron fist. None are allowed to leave, and all who survive must give great tributes to her, living on the pittance that’s left over. In return for her generosity, a blood sacrifice must be made each year. Those that draw the short straw are thrown into the entrance of the mountain, and are never seen again.

Today is your unlucky day, and you’ve drawn the short straw. The mob was a whirlwind to behold, and before you knew it, you were bound, gagged, and dragged off to your demise. Once thrown inside the dark and damp crypt, you’ve been greeted with her generosity. Survive her crypt, and you’re set free. While stuck permanently in exile, you’re still alive, free from her grasp. This is her final gift to you.
